Light emitting plants

The nature, surrounding us, is full of wonders and secrets. Please click here to view the whole article about one of ideas in biotechnological possibilities to fight with global warming. For instance, make trees to generate light by transplanting into them the firefly’s gene, responsible for light emitting. That magic gene name is luciferase. Therefore, if scientists will succeed in their experiment there will be a lot of benefits. First, these plants will emit light without conventionally generated electricity, so it will result in decrease of pollution. Second, as nature plants these ones will absorb carbon dioxide to glow the light, instead releasing into air. Third, plants with many variations of form and color will boost the surroundings. Fourth, it is profitable as plants don’t need maintenance. Fifth, non-renewal energy will not be used, because metals not required. Sixth, the illumination of these plants can be controlled by controlling the genes. Overall, human and nature combination will be much energy efficient than only human made products.
