Give the Mosquitoes the Smack Down (the video interview)

Michael Raupp, a professor of entomology (study of insects) at University of Maryland, gave advice on preventing or resisting the mosquito attack in the video with a link at the end of this blog.

Here some most interesting and good working natural bite blockers: lemon eucalyptus, tomato, and soy bean oil. Look for products containing these ones on their labels and many more mentioned in the video interview. Keep in mind that common remedies like garlic don’t help much.

He says drain or change the containers twice a week with water to get rid of mosquitoes. If there’s stationary water like a pool, then place a Mosquito Dunks into that swimming pool. There’re environmentally safe and won’t harm people swimming in it, but mosquitoes will be destroyed.

Furthermore, another interesting advice is in case of a mosquito bite first put some ice and then use against bite products for better results.

Just FYI: because each person releases their unique blend of body chemicals some of them attract more mosquitoes then others; also, it is interesting that only the female mosquitoes bite!
